Exam structure and scoringHow a question looks
Each practice question tells you why the right answer is right, why the wrong ones are tempting, and where the rule lives. This one catches people because the category name sounds like the wrong type.
Try 12 more like itA walk-in cooler runs on R-134a. Under EPA's definitions, what kind of appliance is it, and which certification covers servicing it?
B. EPA defines a medium-pressure appliance as one using a refrigerant with a liquid phase saturation pressure between 45 and 170 psia at 104 °F, and lists R-134a as an example. Type II certification covers medium-, high- and very high-pressure appliances, except small appliances and motor vehicle systems. The trap is the name: "Type II, high pressure" includes medium pressure too.
See 40 CFR 82.152 (definitions) and 40 CFR 82.161 (certification types).
